Part 2: I saw a lot of creative ideas while watching some of the presentations for the capstone projects. I think some capstone ideas I might like to work on are:

  • Building a simple cybersecurity platform game. I could build a small web platform with interactive, beginner-friendly cybersecurity puzzles where the user puts the right answer and receives points. It would be a fun way to learn skills in cybersecurity.
  • I like the idea of an app where users can make their own puzzles with solutions. You can keep track of which player has solved the most puzzles and make it a competition between the friends. Kind of like hangman, but instead of putting a word, it will be a puzzle that the other player needs to solve. 
  • A digital escape room app. Users can go through rooms "levels" and find hints and solve the puzzle to get through to the next "door." These rooms can be themed differently and can have different kinds of puzzles like finding patterns, or clicking objects to color code, or even solving a mini game. 
Part 3: This week we have talked about starting internships and thinking about grad school. We have also started planning for our capstone project. One assignment I have to work further on this week is my Ethics paper. I have finished the outline and have my topic but I have yet to start writing the paper. I need to continue some research and find sources that will go smoothly with it. This week we are also focusing on the stakeholders point of view using generative AI within our paper. I think this will be interesting. Regarding internships and grad school, I am feeling slightly overwhelmed by this because I have not yet decided if I even want to attend grad school. I know that starting internships right now are very important, so I need to look further into that. I am nervous because I am hoping to be able to add some substantial experience to my resume, I just hope I am doing the right thing for my future.

Week 2 Learning Journal

 Part 1: After reading the Effective Study Skills paper, I think the top 3 skills I am good at are developing a weekly schedule, making sure to read instructions to properly complete assignments, and ensuring I always have a quiet study space with no distractions. Some of these skills come with trial and error but they have proven to be most beneficial in studying successfully. I think 3 skills I need to work on are organizing my notes when researching, the SQ3R method, and making every hour count. These study skills and methods are important to practice because they will be a big step up in being efficient with studying.  Part 2: Activity log Part 3: Watching the three video presentations provided offered a lot of helpful tools that will boost my knowledge on project management. Week 7 Learning Journal

Part 1: For our team’s final research video project, we’ve been using Discord to communicate, and it’s worked really well. We chat frequently, ask each other questions, and keep everyone updated on progress. It’s been a smooth way to stay connected and make sure no one feels out of the loop. We’re using Google Slides to build our presentation and OBS Studio to record and edit the final video. So far, the process has been going pretty smoothly, but if I had to improve anything for next time, I’d suggest setting deadlines a little earlier to give ourselves more buffer room. Overall, the collaboration has been solid and productive. Part 2: This week’s materials made me think about how little things can have huge effects. I chose a TED talk on cybersecurity, I realized how something as simple as clicking a link can lead to serious consequences. It was a good reminder to stay alert online.
